arabic Beauty standards

by - March 21, 2019

hello everyone

and welcome to another post of " story time " i was thinking to write this post from a long a go after i wrote  sorry but i am not her . hope that you like this one and share your opinion with us .

as you know this beauty standards change from country to another and also it's depends on culture , so i decided first to search about the Arabic one since i am Arabic and see do i apply for this standards or no

let's start

- small straight nose : mine is small but not straight i have a little hump from the front my nose look normal but from the sides worse .
- pouty lips : i don't have and actually i am not fan of it .
-big eyes and long thick eyelashes : finally something i relate to and people sometimes compliment me about that but my only problem that i have dark circles and i guess this ruined for me everything .
-colours eyes : mine dark brown and this one i always hear Arabs talk about , they prefer green color so much .
- fair, white and hairless skin : can't relate .
- long black hair : it was long than i cut it now it's down my shoulders i like black too but with some color touch that's why i use colorful hair extension i got them from aliexpress you can check my post less than 1 dollar items from aliexpress  .
- be tall , curvy , flat stomach , big booty and breast : tall yes curvy no , no and no

how it effect us

i am gonna start by how it effect me ?? just negative , when i was searching for this beauty standards i felt so insecure , have a low self esteem and i kept comparing my self to the women shown in the pictures .
this thoughts usually comes to me while i am scrolling through instagram .
and the thing that make me feel worse is this sentence " men adore/prefer..." are we really living for pleasing others , are we going to change ourselves just for others ??
and also the media that's give you this image of the perfect face and body and that why the majority of young girls start thinking of doing plastic surgery just to be social accepted . i was thinking the same since i was 17  but also i am afraid of changing because i don't want to weak up one day and see a different face in the mirror . i was almost going to forget to mention that because this social standard  girls sometimes try dangerous things to get the body image like a tough diet which sometimes they end up in the hospital .

and i am pretty sure that it effects you the same way it does to me .

reflection time

there is more than beautiful face and body , it's called soul .
